There is a very interesting story that’s been growing and it deserves some more investigation, various sources have been noticing a distinct trend in Verizon stores. Customers are noticing that there is a tendency to try to persuade consumers especially new customers to opt for an android phone such as the Droid Razr Max over the Iphone. Now I don’t know how true this is but a lot of tech sites and bloggers have commented about this over the last week or so.
THere could just be an interesting and worrying trend for apple if this continues. One fo the main reason for Verizon to slowly ditch the Iphone is the fact that its spending a lot of money offering the Iphone at a discount, plus the Iphone runs on the 3G network and Verizon as of late has invested rarer a lot in LTE 4G so it makes sense to sell 4G phones with faster connectivity and data transfer. To be honest I’m surprised this hasn’t sooner the Iphone is a great phone but Google phones are getting better and now overtake the Iphone in some tech specs, so until the new Iphone 5 gets released with 4G all bets are off. Things just might start to turn for the Iphone, long live the king ?
Verizon are trying everything in the sellers bible to try to lure customers onto their network, the latest gimmick or sales pitch is aimed at people who don’t want to be tied to a 24 month contract. So Verizon are offering unlimited talk and text plus 1Gb of data a month for eighty dollars a month but its only on the 3G network and its only on one handset the Samsung Illusion still it’s not a bad deal and should do well.

To be honest this could appeal to people ona budget but for most people will be trying to get a device that will make the most of Verizon much-lauded LTE 4G Network considering the serious amount of money that the big red one has invested in the infrastructure it would take a lot to try to persuade the most ardent technophobe to go on a slower network. Considering that almost 90% of new handset out there are geared to work with 4G
Dont really know what to make of this story, guess you’ll just have to judge it on its own merits. Story goes that Verizon could, I say could be bringing out a new 4G LTE phone from manufacturer Pantech. A benchmark report has been leaked showing results of a Pantech device. Thus bringing out the rumour that there could be a new phone in the offing. Now Pantech already have a phone on the Verizon 4G LTE network called the “Breakout”. Now who do we believe and why the cryptic release according to techies who have analysed the result they confirm it’s a 4G device and it also has the same processor as the One X by HTC.

Is this going to be an upscale device, well apparently not judging from the benchmark results the screen res is not up the usual standard of similar devices already out there at the moment. It looks like to all account that Verizon are turning up the heat on the 4G market and trying to relegate 3G to history. That remains to be seen as like I says people can be very fickle look at what happened with Apple and the 4s still 3G and still out selling everything else. It really is a buyers market so much choice so many offers and the market keeps expanding.
Verizon have taken the bull by the horns and have announced that they will be releasing a new video conference solution. Ok so what’s new or interesting about that well this new package will according to Verizon the makers it will be able to utilise different platforms and operating systems. Gone will be the days of trying to get our conference software to work through security and uncooperative firewalls. Now this gives user the ability to have video conference on the fly and negate the horrific issues that can happened (trust me I’ve been there and its not pretty).

Verizon say that their hoping for a release in the summer so we have to wait a bit. This could be the beginning of a more positive evolution in video conferencing. Most people when they think of vidconf assume that that its only used in high circles in board meeting and possible government meetings and to a certain degree this is true but Verizon are hoping that this new solution will be more widely used in more facets of business and other areas. Especially with the advent of 4G LTE with its increased speed and reliability and reduced cost.
News just in looks like Verizon are trying to muscle in on the rural market. Now it seems that Verizon are offering a broadband deal which will start rolling gout in the following rural areas mostly in the eastern half of the country and hope to spread the net further in the future. This all comes from the fact that most of these rural sections don’t have access to broadband or DSL. So Verizon are now giving customers a home broadband service using the much talked about 4G service based on Long Term Evolution Technology.

Hopefully it will bring an increase in customers who avail of the service, it could mean that they could dominate this small niche market as there is not a lot of competition out there. Verizon along with the four big carriers are investing heavily in the 4G network and this is one indication that they might be trying for new untapped markets to appeal to a bigger customer base.
Verizon are offering up to five thousand dollar scholarship for the lucky winner of a new career program that they are about to run in partnership with the Newark Innovation Academy. Each of the successful candidates will work together on several projects over the next four months on various marketing elements such as creating a half a minute commercial advertisement on the new Samsung Galaxy tablet the 4G network.

The students will also attend twice weekly workshops given by Verizon employees to help mentor and provide support along with their own expertise. Much of the work will be geared toward the students creating a clear path for a career in the telecommunication industry and which college will provide the right path to obtain this goal.
Interesting news story up on the web at the moment, to do with the lack of take up of Verizon 4G LTE service with a very small minority taking up their service. Which isn’t exactly great news considering the amount of money that Verizon have invested in updating their services to deliver the blessed LTE network. But like anything to do with the telecommunication industry that will change in time. Verizon have released several devices that can handle the 4G and more will follow, but the problem is other carriers are getting in on the act AT&T and Sprint are now rolling out 4G as well.

The CFO of Verizon in a meeting several days ago stated that its a fine line and he does not want to commit to anymore resources monetary or otherwise to their existing network. The reason that seems to get missed when discussing about going form 3G to 4G is that 4G use less space and so in turn release pressure on older networks.

What to believe or what not to believe, most tech blog including this one try to bring you the latest news whether it be about carriers such as verizon, AT&T or Sprint for example or manufactures like Apple,Samsung or whatever. There are conflicting news stories out over the last several days concerning A&T and Verizon concerning Spectrum the amount of frequencies. Verizon have stated that there was more than enough spectrum to facilitate there LTE roll out to much trumpet blaring.

Now it looks like their rolling back on their own statement that there is now a growing crisis and there’s not enough spectrum to go around. Now there are other stories floating around out there at the moment one of which is that Verizon are calling out AT&T about there spectrum availability and another counter argument saying the Verizon spectrum handling ability is not so hot and keeps failing every few days. So come on guys get your story straight its embarrassing concern.

Its all over net by now it just goes to show you how bad news travels faster than the speed of light. But here goes (if your are Verizon customer you can ignore) there has been a major fuc…. sorry outage on the Verizon Network and seemingly it went wasn’t local to one particular area or region. According to reports its was their 4G Lost Transmission Early (sorry couldn’t help myself).

Verizon issued a statement through a major social network site guess which one, saying that the problem was now fixed and acknowledged that there was an outage but it was only affecting 4G LTE. This doesn’t seem to be the entire truth as some customers also start to complain via the web that there 3G was also affected. It seems to be a trade off form a technical forensic point of view as things get more complicated and faster invariably things do go wrong ghost in the machine and all that.

So again I ask the question in the why is 4G better than 3G well for starters and anybody in Telecom industry it all boils down to this one statement “well its one better” yes I’m paraphrasing form Spinal Tap, there its done its pout of my system no more jokes I promise. 4G if you do a quick check on the web is lists network protocols and standards used for sending data over networks at a set speed. Now 3G also stands for third generation mobile communications which if your a bit of a number freak means that 3G data rates can ranges from low of 200kbs (kilo bytes a second) or slightly higher depending on who you believe and where you are as reception can be a problem especially on the Iphone (long story I won’t go there).

Now with advent of 3G a lot of expense was incurred setting up new infrastructural resources such as new cell towers and other resource such as new telecommunication licenses. Suffice it to say that for the average consumer its best explaining it terms of time there was 2G now there’s 3G and now 4G between 3 and 4 there was 3.5 and 3.75. Now 4G LTE is the new buzz faster speed more data and even LTE Long Term Evolution and marketers dream. There is a ton of more techie information on wikipedia if your interested but to be honest follow this creed 3G old crap 4G good very fast one better. One thing to know apple for the moment still run on the 3G network but with the introduction of the new Iphone 5 this could change. Fro the moment its Android that is running the 4G show with Motorola bring out the Android 4 and by all accounts 4G on its supposed to be very good.
